Whether it be beautiful or poignant, art, for me, is the attempt to hold onto a moment in time. It’s the paint and canvas “snapshot” of that moment.

There are also times of pure creativity when the desire to paint a certain image or use a particular colour palette is nearly irresistible. Why resist? The best work is usually a combination of impulse and discipline.

Each painting has a place in my heart. Each represents a memory, a feeling. It is a privilege to have the space and the time as well as the ability to create art. Knowing that these paintings resonate with others gives me great joy.
